Why I Became a Coach

As a teen I realized my purpose in life was to help others. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about helping people grow — to see their potential, strengthen their character, and find purpose in what they do. That passion guided me through every stage of my life — as a soldier, leader, husband, father, and now, as a leadership and life coach.
From Military Leadership to Life Coaching
My journey began at West Point and continued through 22 years of U.S. Army service. I learned that real leadership isn’t about authority or rank — it’s about serving others, leading with integrity, and bringing out the best in people.
Later, during my 17 years at Boeing, I saw how these same principles apply in the corporate world. Whether managing a team or developing strategy, the key to success was always the same: people who are confident, connected, and grounded in purpose.
Those experiences inspired me to create Gaston Leadership Coaching — a place where I could continue serving others by helping them grow both personally and professionally.
Helping People Lead and Live Better
Today, I coach professionals, young leaders, and individuals who want more than just career success — they want to live with clarity, confidence, and balance.
My mission is simple: to help you lead yourself well so you can lead others better. Through one-on-one coaching and team development, I help clients:
Gain clarity on their goals and direction
Strengthen confidence and communication
Build work–life balance rooted in purpose and values
Develop leadership habits that create long-term growth
Why Coaching Matters
Coaching gives people space to pause, reflect, and realign. It’s not about telling you what to do — it’s about partnering with you to discover your own answers. The transformation that happens when someone reconnects with their purpose or rediscovers their confidence is why I do this work every day.
At Gaston Leadership Coaching, I believe leadership and life are inseparable. When you grow as a person, you naturally become a stronger leader, partner, and professional.
Because real leadership starts with personal growth — and personal growth starts with courage.
